"Mitey" and "Mimi"

I cannot tell you how many times a day I hear "mitey" (Mickey) and "mimi" (Minnie) coming out of Caroline's mouth lately. She is in LOVE with Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Everywhere we go she finds Mickey Mouse and starts yelling his name as loud as she can! She continues to love on her Minnie doll and kiss and hug her, and she loves to wear her Minnie ears around the house that she got at Disney World last spring. I love to see her get so excited about them and be so happy, I LOVE the smile she gets on her face when she sees her "mitey!"

Snow?!

It snowed here for the first time this year, in mid-October!! Caroline was too little to remember the snow from last year, so we went out in her new winter coat to reacquaint her with it (bought just in time!) She loved watching the snowflakes come down and trying to touch them. She cried when we had to come inside, but little girls with colds can't stay out in the cold for long. I promised her that there just MIGHT be more snow later on and that she can go out and play in it then!

Reading with Grandma

Caroline loves to read these days and will bring us books to read to her over and over again! While her grandma was here, she got to enjoy some good reading time with her.

Grandparent Visit

Caroline's grandparents came to stay with us the night after our family dinner. She got to show them how well she is walking, and they played and had a great time as usual!

Family Dinner

Forgive the long lapse in blog entries, we have all been sick around here! Two weeks ago, we got to go out to dinner with Caroline's grandparents, Aunt Lynn, Uncle Rick, and cousins Josh and Miriam while Miriam was home from school. They were so glad to see each other and had a fun time. We were even lucky to have Miriam come see us later in the week too! The big hit of the dinner at Legal Seafood was the big girl cup and straw she got. She also got to have some yummy clam chowder which she ended up wearing as a mustache!

Brand New Friend

Our friend Riley now has a little brother, Mason, born this past Monday. We went to see him last week, and he is precious! He and his mom, Elissa, are doing great! Riley, as well as Caroline, were somewhat interested in him, especially when he cried, but they had important playing to do together! We wer so glad to see Riley and to meet his new little brother, and we look forward to watching both boys grow and having them as our friends!

"Homie"

Caroline frequently asks to be picked up, either out of her stroller, out of her crib, or just tired out after wandering around the house for a while. Sometimes a girl just needs to be held. Although I am sometimes busy and cannot pick her up at that very moment, how could anyone resist this little face with arms outstreched while pleading "homie!"

Pumpkin Painting

We also got a pumpkin when we were apple picking, and we were very brave to let the girls PAINT the pumpkin! Kate remained very clean and painted the pumpkin very carefully like a big girl, Caroline, on the other hand, well...
All I can say is that paint does come out of hair, ears, toes..... They had a great time!

Apple Picking

On our last full day together, we took our fall apple picking trip. The weather was beautiful, and Caroline and Kate had a fabulous time looking for the perfect apples!
Kate was so good at this, I almost think she has done it before when she was just a little older than Caroline...
Then...
And now...
When we got home, both of the girls help to make some delicious apple cobbler!

Children's Museum

After watching some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse together (Caroline's obsession that Kate was happy to oblige!), we headed back into Boston to go to the Children's Museum. First we stopped by Quincy Market for some yummy lunch!
Overlooking Boston Harbor outside the Children's Museum. It is such a fun place, and Carolien had a blast especially now that she is walking by herself!
Kate showed Caroline the turtles that she loves! The girls were able to play with so many things, even some things they could do together. Caroline is "helping" Kate find the shapes she needs. They had chairs just the right size for both girls and they stopped just long enough for a quick smile and then back to playing.
We had so much fun there! On the way to the car, we were redirected around a movie being filmed. Not sure what it was, but these cute girls could be in the movies!

Aquarium

On our first day together, we went to the New England Aquarium in Boston. It was kind of rainy, but that did not stop us! The girls had a great time looking at all of the penguins and fish together. They shared some snacks to get them through the long day.
Kate tried to give Caroline some pointers on posing for pictures in front of Boston Harbor.
The sweetest time of the day was when we went to Mike's Bakery to pick out treats for after our aquarium visit. Kate carefully chose the cookie she wanted. While we were eating them in the car, Caroline was very interested in Kate's cookie since she did not get one of her own (maybe next time!). Kate was so kind to share part of her cookie with Caroline. These girls are so precious!

Texas Friends

Our good friends Amy and Kate came to visit us from Texas last week. We always enjoy their visits, and it has been so fun to see Kate grow up and now watch her interact with Caroline. She is such a sweet girl and is always concerned about Caroline. Since Caroline is getting bigger, they had so much more fun playing together this time. Here are a few of the sweetest shots during our time with them, and there are many more to come over the next few blog posts!

Rosh Hashanah

A couple of weeks ago we got to spend Rosh Hashanah with our family. We went to Caroline's Aunt Lynn and Uncle Rick's house to eat and see Lynn's parents, Ruth and David. Caroline's grandparents stayed with us which is always a treat! Caroline did very well again with the babysitter while we went to services, and then she got to show off for Lynn, her grandma, and Ruth, and anyone else who was watching!
